Nike Air Zoom Structure 21 Running Shoes
Lighter and stronger than the previous version, the Nike Air Zoom Structure 21 Running Shoe provides the same stability and support that first made it a favourite. Softer, lightweight Flymesh material helps keep your feet cool, while responsive Nike Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot gives you a snappy, springy feeling underfoot.
Flymesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. They are engineered with monofilament yarns to add strength and durability while removing weight, and the result is even more feathery, ventilated support than in previous versions. A seamless construction supplies you with irritation-free wear, because we know how rubbing and blisters can ruin your day. Dynamic Fit technology uses Flywire cables to provide a total lockdown fit; the cables integrate with the top two eyestays, as well as an arch band that integrates with the lower eyestays, to eliminate millimetres of movement with each stride. An inner mesh bootie supplements the shoe’s breathable nature, increasing the airflow to keep your feet cool on longer distance days. The internal heel counter wraps the heel in a snug, secure fit; it helps to anchor the foot to the midsole and reduce in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides.
Dynamic Support Midsole
An Ortholite sockliner lies atop a dual-density midsole to cradle the foot in an extra layer of step-in comfort and responsiveness. Breathable and moisture-wicking, it creates a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. Beneath the insole, compression-moulded Phylon on the medial side and Cushlon on the lateral side fuse together to create an insane equilibrium of stability and impact protection. Phylon, the firmer foam, sits beneath the arch to control pronation and encourage neutral running posture, thus preventing injury. Cushlon, a mix of Phylon and rubber, cushions the outer side; lightweight, responsive and bouncy, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving concrete. The two foam layers work in harmony, moving the wearer from a soft to stable landing as the heel strikes and the foot flexes. Nike Zoom Air features in the forefoot to supply your stride with extra bounce; it combines pressurised air with internal fibres to deliver responsive cushioning that springs back fast, so you can move faster. Zoom Air’s advantage is that, as well as providing excellent impact protection, it boasts a super lightweight and low-profile design which lets your feet sit closer to the ground, enhancing proprioception so that you can run more efficiently.
A honeycomb pattern outsole completes the Air Zoom Structure 21, introduced to supply multi-surface traction. Duralon covers the forefoot to enhance cushioning whilst supplying soft, sticky grip. The lightweight, blown synthetic rubber compound incorporates tiny air pockets to create a smooth, pillowy ride. A rubber crash rail on the lateral side of the outsole acts as a durable cushioning device at contact; segmented to enhance flexibility, it encourages an even transition from heel-strike through to toe-off.
